Reading has been going since 1971 - longer than most popular music festivals still in existence.
It can hold around 87,000 people, which is roughly the same as the population of the Seychelles.
That's if you swap sand for mud and peaceful beaches for throat-swelling, ground-throbbing music.
We gave a pad and a pencil/pen to several bands (and one comedian) and asked them to draw what comes to mind when they think of Reading.
Here's what they sketched, many of them minutes before or after being on stage.
